Huge Winter Storm May Become Midwest Blizzard

By Paul Yeager, author of Weather Whys: Facts, Myths, and Oddities

There have been plenty of noteworthy storms so far this winter (and it’s only late January!), but the one that will move from the Plains to the East Coast this week might become a full-scale blizzard in the upper Midwest, along with a major snowstorm for parts of the Plains, Ohio Valley, and Northeast, an ice storm from parts of the Missouri Valley to the mid-Atlantic region, and a dangerous thunderstorm producer in the South.

That’s quite a sentence and, more important, quite a weather resume for one storm.
